The X-Men is a clandestine group of super hero mutants, each possessing an extraordinary ability gained at birth. Their skills were honed by their mentor, Professor X, who sought to create a team of good mutants to save mankind from the threat of Evil Mutants led by Magneto.
Notes: This wave is comprised of entirely reissues. Though many of these figures will be re-released with different decos in the next series, these are the same release as Series 1 but are identified by the packaging changes. The re-released packages changed from the "closed hang tab" to the "open hang tab" while maintaining the first series card backs.
It is also important to note that the next wave includes new decos for Cyclops, Juggernaut, Archangel and Apocalypse. These new decos are released on both this wave's "open hang tab/Series 1" card design and the "open hang tab/Series 4" card design with the zigzag line down the vertical center of the card. I cannot tell with certainty if the release of those new deco figures were in this series (thus matching the card backs) or in the next series (thus released in the same wave on two different card backs).
