Once a citizen of the planet Zenn-La, Norrin Radd lived a peaceful existence. When the planet-devouring Galactus came to feed on his home world, Norrin went to Galactus' ship to please for peace. In exchange for sparing his home world, Norrin agreed to become Galactus' herald. Given vast cosmic powers by Galactus, Norrin become the Silver Surfer, searching the cosmos to find planets for his master to consume. Ultimately, the Silver Surfer rebelled, instead becoming a cosmic force of justice.
