Attempting to use a magical amulet to become ultimately powerful, the Hobgoblin and Skinner unwittingly create a rift in time and pull out a being from the far future! Unable to control the amulet's magical powers, the villains are quickly defeated when Wolverine and Spider-Man show up to investigate the disturbance. Using their combined knowledge, even Spider-Man and Wolverine find themselves unable to reverse the amulet's effect. Taking a last-chance shot, Wolverine pierces the amulet with his adamantium claws, destroying it and releasing the energy it possessed, and closing the rift in on itself.
